normally, i don’t like to toot my own horn, but this is one of those cases where i’m proud to say i am a semi-finalist in the canon project imagin8ion photo contest. for the next five days, the public is invited to vote on their favorite pictures. i would love it if you could put in a vote for my photo. just click here to vote.

this past weekend my husband and i went to the los angeles natural history museum and photographed the butterflies in their paviliion of wings. what i kick!!!! they are all loose in this greenhouse like building, fluttering and landing and fluttering and landing and it’s a gas to both watch and for me to photograph. i have always found butterflies to be especially beautiful and these did not disappoint!!

so most of you know me as a people photographer, and you would be right, my favorite thing to photograph is a face.  but i’ve done a lot of different types of photography and have done floral studies off and on for years.  i absolutely love looking through the lens inside a flower and seeing all the fascinating things that are in there!  it’s wondrous to behold and i love to be able to capture it.  i also love to make photo books.  for clients, for friends and family.  and the company i use does a spectacular job of printing, on very heavy, fine paper, the results are top shelf and extremely beautiful.  that company contacted me today to ask if they could feature one of my floral books on the inspiration page of their website.

as long as these beauties are available on the street, i will continue to photograph and share them!!!!!!!!
